Personally I think working on altissimo IF you use it is a good idea, and the first 3-4 overtones are useful, but getting a million overtones is just a party trick.

I was watching a video of Chad LB where he was using his SYOS signature mouthpiece and he sounded fabulous on it.
A lot can be done by some solid listening. Getz had quite a dark sound. Whatever mouthpiece you end up using, use a Rovner ligature. It darkens the tone more than a regular ligature. When an oboe doubler messes with his sax reeds. 1.I bought a tenor Z and was able to hear it against a Keilwerth SX 90R and 1950's vintage Mark VI- all instruments, including the Z, were played by two pro musicians. The Z in my opinion blew the SX90R and the Mark VI away. The Z is on top for resonance and projection. It actually sounds like an amplified horn.Boston repairs. Don't forget in 2016 Selmer came out with new reeds in a Blue Plastic container. The alto reeds were $24.99 and tenor $26.99 from KesslerMusic. The Omega's I bought in the late 1980s with the clear plastic top. I have several of the fuzzy brown boxes from the 1960s too. I've always liked Vandoren better though.

It could certainly be a good horn, but it is past the prime period of the '30s, '40s, and early '50s. It kind of looks like a relac, but the engraving is sharp, so maybe not. And no, this is not a Big B or an Aristocrat.
